Love my new laptop bag/briefcase/purse!

My handsome boyfriend gave to me a chic Coakley laptop bag/briefcase/purse for my 24th birthday!  The Coakley is a decidedly more feminine and elegant upgrade from my SwissGear black laptop bag.  I am most delighted.

I know I banned myself from shopping for shoes and clothes until November 14, but I cannot wait for these stunning shoes to arrive in H&M stores in November 2009!  I am so glad the Anna Sui for Target collection does not tempt me at all.

Classics never go out of style.

 I know it's not high fashion, but my friends look great in their classic American clothes.  We all need some great basics to wear, because they can continue to look good even years from now.  My striped green shirt, shorts, and purse are over two years old now.  It doesn't hurt to "shop your own closet" in this unstable economy when millions are losing their jobs.

The Most Elusive Suit of 2009

I planned to buy it at my local Atlanta H&M, but it was never there.  It was sold out within minutes at the few H&M stores that were lucky to sell it.  I tried to buy it on eBay, but twelve bidders outbid me in the last 30 seconds of the auction.  I eventually bought both the jacket and the pant, but both were too big for me.  I can't think of a more elusive business suit in 2009 than this electric blue number.  

Matthew Williamson, you should have produced more of these.

Favorite Pant Suit of Spring-Summer 2009

If I could afford it, I would buy this edgy but professional Alexander McQueen pantsuit.  The combination of the perfectly strong shoulders, narrow waist, and slim straight leg provide a sharp, commanding feminine silhouette with a decidely modern elegance.  The button details on the lapel add an element of edginess, and the patent belt (which does not come with the suit) introduces some high shine into this monotone outfit.  It's one of my favorite suits from spring-summer 2009.  I would not wear it for a law associate job interview, but I would definitely wear it to work at a law office (but with a blouse underneath the jacket, unlike the model below).
