Miuccia Prada proclaims, "It's time to be bold." However, one should be bold without being an eyesore. I dislike the "minimal baroque" aesthetic of Prada's spring 2011 collection. It's definitely special, with references to Josephine Baker (circa 1920s), prisoners, and hospital orderlies, joined to the ubiquitous neon stripes of the early 1990s. I do concede that some of the silhouettes are elegant, but I find the clashing neon colors to be too jarring for the most part. Below I have posted the most tolerable outfits from the collection.
